Ep. 1 I Emperor Sundiata of Mali

Well, let’s just give you a hint: he’s one of the greatest Emperors of pre-colonial Africa and the man who gave the world a very significant ‘gift.’ What is this gift you may wonder? Actually, before we get to that, the empire this emperor ruled was the Mali Empire which came to global attention in the 14th Century. It produced one great king and two remarkable Emperors. In this episode, we look briefly at that King and more at the Emperor. His name? Mari Djata, or, more popularly, Emperor Sundiata. He gave the world a most remarkable gift.
